About the planet

Thyferra is a green-and-white world covered with rain forests; it has little axial tilt and is unbearably humid. Although the Vratix already had colonized other bodies in their system, contact with the Republic ushered in a technological revolution. The Vratix soon invented the healing fluid called bacta; the remarkable fluid was extremely profitable, and powerful Vratix operations spread across many worlds.
